The Literacy Crisis That’s Been Ignored for 40+ Years

According to the National Association of Educational Progress (NAEP), 66% of fourth-grade students are reading below grade level. Meaning, only 24% of fourth graders are reading at or above grade level. What’s worse is that these scores HAVE NOT improved in OVER 30 YEARS since the NAEP began this assessment in 1992.
