Why Skateboarding?

Skateboarding is a fun and exciting activity for kids of all ages. And it’s more than just a fun way to exercise.

Skateboarding teaches core values and important life lessons that help kids succeed

  • Balance and coordination
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Perseverance
  • Self-confidence
  • Teamwork
  • Respect for others and their property

Core values that can be taught through skateboarding:

  • Self-Awareness: Skateboarding teaches kids to be aware of their own strengths and weaknesses, both physically and mentally. They learn to identify areas where they need to improve, and to set goals for themselves.
  • Self-Management: Skateboarding teaches kids to manage their time and energy effectively. They learn to set priorities and to stay focused on their goals. They also learn to cope with stress and setbacks in a healthy way.
  • Persistence: Skating is hard, yo. It takes time and practice to learn new tricks. But kids who skate learn to stick with it, even when it’s tough, learn to never give up on their goals.
  • Resilience: Skating involves a lot of falling down, but good skaters learn to get back up and keep trying. This teaches kids to be tough and not give up in the face of challenges or setbacks.
  • Courage: Skateboarding takes guts. You gotta be willing to try new things and push yourself outside of your comfort zone. It’s a great way for kids to learn to overcome challenges and take risks.
  • Growth mindset: Skateboarding teaches kids that they can do anything they set their minds to, as long as they’re willing to put in the work and never give up. They learn that failure is a part of the process, and that they can learn from their mistakes.

Skateboarding is an awesome way for kids to stay active, have fun, and practice core values.
